Bedford Timber takes part in the 18th Annual Polypipe Charity Sailing Regatta, held on Wednesday the 7th September 2016.
The Regatta, aimed at sailors and non-sailors alike, was hosted by Polypipe with the goal for everyone to experience an enjoyable day on the water with some friendly racing whilst ultimately raising money for charity.
The morning of the regatta started at 7:40 am, with breakfast at the Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club. Afterwards, competitors headed to the pontoon where their yachts were moored, kitted up and had their on-board safety briefing. After an hour and a half of learning to sail, remembering how to sail or practising how to sail, the action began with the first race. After breaking for some well-earned lunch, the second race began. Upon their return, it was time to return to the Yacht Club for tea, cakes, prize giving, the charity raffle and of course the odd beer.
